- Nope the thing was built for real. Although it couldn't actually walk. It
- was a genuine mass of pistons and actuators - although I think they used
- much lighter materials than it appears to be made of.
- The final robot required five off-screen operators and could lift forty
- pounds!

- Incidentally the design was based on Hammerstein - one of the ABC
- warriors (who shared the pages of 2000AD with Judge Dredd).

- The film was a pretty impressive collection of effects tied together by a
- typical Hollywood no-brainer plot. Now if Judge Dredd had been done
- properly, at the end of the movie he would have arrested everyone citing
- each and every law broken in the course of the plot. Also the hemet
- should have stayed on.
